What Is Expected from You as a Participant:

Respect and Openness

– Respect the healing tradition, the facilitators, the shamans, and fellow participants.
– Be open-minded and receptive to the process, even if it becomes
emotionally or physically intense.

Follow the Dieta (Ayahuasca Diet)

Usually begins at least 7 days before the retreat (or more depending your stay).
Avoid:

– Alcohol
– Pork, red meat
– Spicy and heavily processed foods
– Caffeine
– Sugar
– Salt (minimized)
– Sexual activity
– Recreational drugs and certain medications (especially SSRIs, MAOIs, etc.)
– Eat light, plant-based meals.

Toiletries (natural/biodegradable if possible)

-Toothbrush, toothpaste
-Shampoo, conditioner
-Soap (non-scented/natural)
-Feminine hygiene products
-Deodorant
-Wet wipes or baby wipes

Health Items

– Personal medications (disclosed in advance)
– Electrolyte packets or ORS (optional)
– First aid basics (plasters, antiseptic, etc.)
-Herbal teas (if allowed)
– Activated charcoal (for stomach upset — check with facilitator first)

Honesty about Health
Disclose any physical or mental health conditions.

– Inform the facilitators of any medications you are taking.
– Be honest about past traumas or psychiatric history (optional)

Surrender and Trust the Process
You may experience discomfort or challenging visions — trust the
medicine.

– Let go of the need to control.

What to Bring to the Ayahuasca Retreat Centre
Clothing & Comfort


– Breathable clothes (long sleeves and pants for mosquitoes)
– Rain jacket or poncho
– Warm layers (nights can be cool).
– Sandals/shoes
– Swimsuit.
– Towel and small blanket or shawl
Sleepwear (light and comfy)

ESSENTIALS:
– Mosquito repellent (natural if possible)
– Headlamp or flashlight (plus extra batteries)
– Water bottle
– Journal and pen
– Eye mask (if you’re sensitive to light)
– Earplugs (if you’re a light sleeper)

OPTIONAL but HELPFUL
A sacred item or personal totem for ceremony (crystal, photo, small object)
Your intentions written down
Books or spiritual texts (check if phone use is limited)
Small snacks (if allowed and appropriate for the dieta)

Note: If your expectations were exceeded during your ayahuasca retreat, you can leave a tip personally to the staff if you wish.
